Strabane man convicted of Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Strabane Magistrates Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

He failed to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £386. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay court costs of £31.

He is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 66 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
