Dundonald man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

A Dundonald man (29) failed to declare employment while claiming Jobseekers Allowance totalling £1,590. He was given 60 hours community service and ordered to pay £28 court costs.

He is also required to repay any remaining money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
