17 June 2008 - Dungannon woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Breige Ann King (60) of Killymeal Road,Dungannon, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £6,799 while failing to declare she had capital. She was fined £450 and ordered to pay court costs of £79.

Mrs King is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 200 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
