Belfast woman convicted of benefit fraud
Tuesday, 18 May 2010A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
The 54 year old from Belfast claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £12,597 while failing to declare employment. She was given 8 months probation and ordered to pay court costs of £34.
Ms McClelland also has to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
