Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Bangor Court
Thursday, 19 November 2009A woman was convicted at Bangor Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
She was fined £405 and ordered to pay court costs of £46 for failing to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £6,953.
The woman is also required to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 387 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
