Belleek man convicted of Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Omagh Crown Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The Belleek man failed to declare capital while claiming Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £29,104. He was given one years imprisonment, suspended for three years.

He is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 74 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
