A woman has been convicted at Dungannon Crown Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Catherine McSorley (47) of New Street, Clady claimed Income Support and Carer’s Allowance totalling £59,935 while failing to declare work. She was given a 12 month prison sentence suspended for 2 years.
Mrs McSorley is required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 225 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
