Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Strabane court
Friday, 23 October 2009A woman has been convicted at Strabane Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
She failed to declare capital while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £15,091. She was given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years.
The woman is also required to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 360 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
