Belfast woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Belfast Crown Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

A Belfast woman (44) claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £35,860 while failing to declare capital. She was given 150 hours community service for 12 months.

She is also required to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
