26 June 2008 - Lisburn woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Rosaleena Cumbo (32), of Huguenot Drive, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £4,686 while failing to declare she was working full time. She was given a two year conditional discharge.

She will also have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 217 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
