28 August 2008 - Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Lisburn court

A woman was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Angela Heatley (35) of Westbourne Terrace, Lisburn, claimed Income Support totalling £1,412 while failing to declare she was working full time from November 2005 to June 2006.

Miss Heatley was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £28.

She is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 297 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
