29 January 2010 - Lisburn man convicted of Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

A man failed to declare his partner’s employment while claiming Job Seekers Allowance totalling £4,655. He was fined £250 and ordered to pay court costs of £31.

He is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 43 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
