22 April 2008 - Limavady man convicted of benefit fraud

A Limavady man was convicted of benefit fraud at Londonderry Crown Court today.

Samuel Cruise (49), of Meadowvale Park, claimed Income Support totalling £20,220 while failing to declare he had capital. He was given a nine month custodial sentence suspended for three years.

Mr Cruise is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
