A man was convicted at Downpatrick Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
Michael Perry (51) of Abbey View, Downpatrick was fined £100 for failing to declare he was living with a partner while claiming Income Support totalling £7,901.
Mr Perry is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 124 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
