14 August 2007 - Belfast woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman who cashed duplicate cheques for Incapacity Benefit was convicted at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today.

Charlene Donaldson (29), of Highburn Crescent, falsely obtained a total of £656 in benefits. She was given a Conditional Discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £56 costs.

She is also required by the Social Security Agency to refund the money that she falsely obtained. This is the 226th successful prosecution for benefit fraud so far this year.
