15 August 2007 - Benefit fraudster failed to declare savings

A man was convicted of benefit fraud at Bangor Magistrates’ Court today.

Trevor Gill (55), of Skipperstone Road, Bangor, had claimed Jobseekers’ Allowance to a total of £1,895 without declaring his savings. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and is required to repay the money to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 228th successful prosecution for benefit fraud so far this year.
