15 August 2007 - Man convicted for altering benefit cheque

A man who changed a Social Fund cheque was convicted of benefit fraud at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today.

Jesse Jackson (19), of Drumcoo Green, Dungannon, was given a one month prison sentence, suspended for two years. He had falsely obtained £100 from the Social Security Agency.

This is the 227th successful prosecution for benefit fraud so far this year.
