A woman was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Joan Irwin (48) of Coolarkin, Boho, claimed Income Support, Carers Allowance and a Rates Rebate totaling £14,853 while failing to declare she was working full time. She was given a conditional discharge and a four month prison sentence suspended for two years.
She is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 271 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
