Ritchie announces health fair initiative for Ballyclare
Thursday, 20 August 2009Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie MLA today announced funding for a Health Fair to be held in the Grange/Thornhill estate in Ballyclare.
Funding of £7,091.50 has been provided through the Department's Neighbhourhood Renewal fund for the event in August. It will be delivered by the Grange Health Sub Group, whose members are residents from the Grange/Thornhill estate.
Margaret Ritchie said: “I welcome this announcement of funding for the residents of the Grange/Thornhill estate. A wide range of health service providers will be in attendance and this will strengthen links between local residents and the services available to help sustain a healthy lifestyle.”
The programme will cater for all ages with activities such as climbing wall, archery and a magician.
Margaret Ritchie continued: “The organisers have ensured that there will be something for everyone no matter what age group and I would encourage all family members to attend on the day and take advantage of what is on offer.”
