Man convicted of benefit fraud at Armagh Court

A man was convicted at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Friday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

A man claimed Income Support and Carers Allowance totalling £3,004 while residing outside the UK. He was given a £300 fine and ordered to pay £43 costs.

He is also required by the Social Security Agency to repay the money he wrongfully obtained.

This brings to 444 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
