A woman was convicted at Antrim Crown Court yesterday for claiming benefit she was not entitled to.
Rose Ann O’Hagan (56), of Princess Street, Portrush, received Income Support and Housing Benefit to the value of £19,730 while failing to declare she had capital. She was given a conditional discharge and will also have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 58 the total number of convictions so far this year by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
