Ballymena woman convicted of benefit fraud
Friday, 5 February 2010A woman was convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
A woman claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £3,653 while failing to declare employment. She was given a six month conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £38.
She will also have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 53 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
