Coalisland woman convicted of benefit fraud
Tuesday, 9 February 2010A woman was convicted at Dungannon Magistrates’ court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
The woman claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £7,138 while failing to declare capital. She was given a two month prison sentence suspended for two years. She was also fined £200.
She will have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 59 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
