A woman was convicted at Magherafelt Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Catherine Deery (45) of Sperrin Drive, Magherafelt claimed Income Support totalling £3,276 while failing to declare employment. She was given an 18 month conditional discharge.
Ms Derry will also have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 240 the total number of successful prosecutions this year
