Newry Woman Convicted of Benefit Fraud

A woman was convicted at Newry Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

A woman Derrybeg (47) was given a 12 month conditional discharge for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £8,478.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
