Eileen Evason reappointed as standard committee chairperson

Professor Eileen Evason has been reappointed as chairperson of the Northern Ireland Joint Standards Committee for the Social Security and Northern Ireland Child Support Agencies.

The appointment is from 26 April 2007 and Professor Evason will serve for a further period of 5 years.

The Northern Ireland Joint Standards Committee was set up in 1999 to report to the Chief Executives of the Social Security and Child Support Agencies in Northern Ireland on the standards of decision making and payment accuracy within the two Agencies.

Eileen Evason is Emeritus Professor in Social Policy (University of Ulster) and has spent many years engaged in teaching and research with a particular focus on poverty and social security. As a researcher, she has completed numerous projects relating to the business of both Agencies and has an extensive list of publications.
