Three people were convicted at Omagh Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Mary Farry (45), of Fairview Heights, Dromore, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit while failing to declare she was working. She was fined £120 and ordered to pay court costs of £55.
Edmund Donnelly (43), of Maryville, Sheskinshule, claimed Income Support totalling £9,570 while failing to declare he had capital. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £61.
Marita Crawford (35), of Sperrin View, Sixmilecross, claimed Income Support totalling £1,134 while failing to declare she was working. She was fined £150 and ordered to pay court costs of £40.
All three are also required to repay the money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 198 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
