A woman has been convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Elizabeth Murray (61) of Ennis Tarry, Lurgan claimed Housing Benefit, Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support, Carers Allowance and Incapacity Benefit totalling £32,207 while failing to declare employment. She was given 200 hours community service.
Ms Murray is required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 226 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
