24 June 2008 - Man convicted of benefit fraud at Ballymena court

A man was today convicted at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

Fukchi Law (47) of Westbourne Avenue, Ballymena, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £8,171 while failing to declare he had capital. He was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £79.

This brings to 211 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
