02 May 2008 - Larne woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted of benefit fraud at Larne Magistrates’ Court today.

Shirley Yendall (32) of Exchange Road, Larne was fined £500 and ordered to pay court costs of £40 for duplicate encashment of Income Support cheques totalling £335.

Miss Yendall is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 138 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
