26 May 2009 - Ballymena man convicted of benefit fraud

A Ballymena man has been convicted at the town’s Magistrates' Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

David McFall (55) of Iona Gardens, Ballymena was fined £75 and ordered to pay £64 court costs for exaggerating his incapacity while claiming Disability Living Allowance totalling £2,644.

Mr McFall is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 176 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
