Ballyclare man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Antrim Magistrates' Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The Ballyclare man failed to declare he was working while claiming Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £647. He was given a £1,500 fine and ordered to pay £64 court costs.

He is also required to repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
