Belfast woman convicted of benefit fraud
Monday, 7 June 2010A woman has been convicted at Belfast Magistrates Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
The Belfast woman failed to declare that she was working and living with a partner while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £42,982. She was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment suspended for two years.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
