Belfast woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman has been convicted at Belfast Magistrates Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

The Belfast woman failed to declare that she was working and living with a partner while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £42,982. She was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment suspended for two years.

She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
