A man was convicted at Omagh Magistrates’ Court on 22 November for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
Damien O’Keefe (41) of Clones Road, Newtownbutler had claimed Income Support and Rates totalling £35,062 while working and failing to disclose his capital. He was given a one year prison sentence suspended for two years and will also have to repay the money he received to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 370 the number of convictions secured so far this year by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
