Ritchie visits Cooper’s Court Resident’s Association
Tuesday, 10 November 2009Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie MLA today visited Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter to meet with members of Cooper’s Court Resident’s Association.
Cooper’s Court is a new 33 apartment development by Helm Housing Association, which has been part funded by the Department for Social Development. The once empty warehouse and derelict adjoining area has been transformed and brings a new residential zone to the Cathedral Quarter.
The Minister said: “I very much welcome the opportunity to meet the Cooper’s Court Residents Association. They are obviously very proud of their new accommodation right in the heart of the rejuvenated Cathedral Quarter, with shops and facilities all close at hand. The invitation from Chairperson, Sean Campbell, arose out of my recent series of public forums and I felt it was important to see the area at first hand and also take on board the views of local people.”
After viewing the development, the Minister took the opportunity to discuss a number of issues with residents.
