19 November 2009 - Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Bangor Court

A woman was convicted at Bangor Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

She was fined £405 and ordered to pay court costs of £46 for failing to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £6,953.

The woman is also required to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 387 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
