27 November 2009 - Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Dungannon Court

A woman was convicted of benefit fraud at Dungannon Crown Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

The woman claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £34,270 while failing to declare capital. She was given a twelve month prison sentence suspended for two years.

She will also have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 403 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
