A woman was convicted at Belfast Crown Court today for working while in receipt of Income Support and Housing Benefit.
Lisa Pinkerton (41) of Queen’s Parade, Bangor, had received a total of £41,398 between June 2002 and March 2004. She was sentenced to 200 hours community service.
Ms Pinkerton has repaid in full the money she wrongfully claimed.
This brings to 285 the number of convictions secured so far this year by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
