“I welcomed the chance to meet with the Social Development Committee earlier today and to clarify some of the issues arising from my statement last week.
“I had a very useful exchange of views with the members and, like the Chair, I want to draw a line under this matter and move forward.
“Later this week we have announcements on the Programme for Government and the draft Budget and it was important that we could put this behind us to allow us to concentrate on these pressing issues and to continue to work together to address the objective of targeting need and tackling disadvantage, in particular, the budget for social housing.”
