Minister Ritchie seeks action on fuel poverty

Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie MLA today called for action to address fuel poverty.

The Minister said: “Tackling fuel poverty is an important priority for my Department. It is our duty to help those who will suffer extreme hardship this winter.

“In the absence of Executive meetings, I have been forced to bring forward my fuel poverty recommendations through urgent procedures.

“As an Executive we need to make a decision as the logistical work needs to start now if we are to tackle fuel poverty this winter.”
