Man convicted of benefit fraud at Armagh Court
Friday, 16 October 2009A man was convicted at Armagh Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
The man claimed Income Support totalling £8,537 while failing to declare he had capital. He was given a £300 fine and ordered to pay £34 court costs.
He is also required by the Social Security Agency to repay the money he wrongfully obtained.
This brings to 356 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
