Dunmurry woman convicted of benefit fraud at Lisburn court

A woman was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

The woman failed to declare employment while claiming Income Support totalling £2,287. She was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £28 court costs.

She is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 359 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
