Woman convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Court

A woman was convicted at Belfast Crown Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

The woman was given two years imprisonment suspended for three years for claiming Income Support totalling £28,498 while failing to declare she was living with a partner.

She is also required to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 361 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
