17 September 2007 - Enniskillen woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Emma McLaughlin (21), of Lisolvan Park, was fined £120 for wrongfully cashing an Income Support cheque for £39.56.

Ms McLaughlin will have to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 269 the number of convictions secured so far this year by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
