26 September 2008 - Lisburn woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Lisburn Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

Victoria Ferguson (27) of Cromwells Highway, Lisburn claimed Income Support totalling £1,582 while failing to declare she was working.

Miss Ferguson is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 361 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
