Larne man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Larne Magistrates’ Court on Friday 4 September for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

He was fined £500 and ordered to pay court costs of £55 for exaggerated incapacity when claiming Disability Living Allowance totalling £5,649.

He is also required by the Social Security Agency to repay the money he wrongfully obtained.

This brings to 297 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
