Enniskillen man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The man was given four months imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered to pay £43 court costs for working while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £1,848. A compensation order was granted for £1171.43

He will also have to repay the Housing Benefit he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 303 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
