Newtownabbey man convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Court
Wednesday, 23 September 2009A Newtownabbey man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
The man failed to declare employment while claiming Income Support totalling £4,820. He was given 100 hours community service and ordered to pay £34 court costs.
He is also required to repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 320 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
