Man convicted of benefit fraud at Limavady Court

A man was convicted at Limavady Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The man was given a one month sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £73 court costs for undeclared capital while claiming Income Support and Jobseekers Allowance totalling £11,353.

He is required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 328 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
