There’s a travellers’ checklist, information about passports and visas, how to be safe in the sun and much more. You can also get things done online, at a time that suits you, from applying for a European Health Insurance Card to ordering your passport.
If you’re staying at home this summer, and while school's out, why not take a look at some ideas for things to do locally? You can read more about exploring forests and woodlands, visiting museums and galleries or finding out about attractions and events taking place around Northern Ireland this summer. Or why not watch some videos online, highlighting some of the wonderful places to visit locally.
If you have internet access while you're away, you can still log on to nidirect for government information and services. For example, you might even want to book your car in for an MOT for your return - or do it now before you go.
A spokesman for the NI Direct website said: "The new website offers everyone with access to the internet an opportunity to easily access government information or carry out transactions - all on the one site and at a time that suits them. And, they can save time by not having to visit other government websites."
